Sustainability on every pallet:

This week is World Cleanup Day, so we thought we’d share one of our sustainable practices for reducing waste.

Because we do our own bottling, we receive deliveries of bottles, each one covered in plastic shrink wrap. Rather than send the wrap to landfill, we bale it and send it to Replas in Auckland, who turn it into pallet slip sheets. These are lightweight ‘mats’ with a grippy top and slippery bottom, used to slip wine on and off pallets with help of a forklift. This means we can ship our wine overseas without using traditional pallets.

By using slip sheets, we reduce shipping weight from 23kg (for a pallet) to just 800g (for a sheet), making our shipments more environmentally friendly.  And we diverted 800kg of plastic from landfill last year.

World Cleanup Day 20 September – doing our bit.

Gold Medal & Trophy Winner

We’re delighted that our Reserve Chardonnay was awarded a Gold medal and the Marlborough Chardonnay Trophy at the recent 2023 International Wine Challenge (IWC).

Now in its 39th year, the IWC is accepted as the world’s most rigorous, impartial and influential annual wine competition.

Well done team!
