New Zealand’s most sustainably certified wine producer

Cellar Door

Welcome

You’ll always receive a warm welcome at our home on Alabama Road

Lawson’s Dry Hills Reserve wines are open for you to taste and often something else a little bit special, such as one of our limited Pioneer wines, or a wine from Blind River. Tastings are $15 per person, but this is waived if you make a bottle purchase.

Pick your own platter with a range of pre-packaged local cheeses, cured meats, paté and salmon; or bring your own picnic and enjoy with a glass of our wine. The picturesque courtyard affords views of our famous hills – the ones that are on our label – and you can see the original illustration hanging on the cellar door wall.

As one of the closest cellar doors to Blenheim’s town centre, we’re a 35 minute walk or 5 minute drive; so come and visit us with your friends and family.

Although not essential, during our busy summer months we do recommend booking your tasting, just give us a call on 03 578 7674 to book or email us. For groups of five or more, bookings are essential.

Favourite winery tasting experience I've had!! Great tasting wine with really interesting environmental credentials and an extremely friendly discussions over the wine. Special shoutout to Carol who was very knowledgeable yet unprejudiced - we were happily able to ask any questions we could think of about the wine, the wine making process, and the business's carbon neutral journey during our lengthy chat. Learned a lot and enjoyed it immensely. We bought a bottle of Gewurztraminer (got the tasting free as a result) and really enjoyed it with a curry from a nearby restaurant - a pairing reccomendation from Carol that didn't dissappoint!!
While a lot of the bigger wineries have very rushed and impersonal tastings, this was a real delight. We hope to find LDH wines back home to fondly remember our travels here!

Lawson’s Winery was our first stop in Marlborough and I couldn’t be happier. Wines were delicious and all very complex, great value and a welcoming cellar door.

Nigel served us and was incredibly helpful with the tastings and telling us what to do in town.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re doing wines in Marlborough.

Lawson's Dry Hills Winery & Cellar Door exceeded our expectations and we wish we brought a whole case home. I was very impressed from the start to finish including the professionalism of how the wine tasting is done to ensure folks who love wine - knows its beauty.
