Welcome
You’ll always receive a warm welcome at our home on Alabama Road.
Lawson’s Dry Hills Reserve wines are open for you to taste and often something else a little bit special, such as one of our limited Pioneer wines, or a wine from Blind River. Tastings are $15 per person, but this is waived if you make a bottle purchase.
Pick your own platter with a range of pre-packaged local cheeses, cured meats, paté and salmon; or bring your own picnic and enjoy with a glass of our wine. The picturesque courtyard affords views of our famous hills – the ones that are on our label – and you can see the original illustration hanging on the cellar door wall.
As one of the closest cellar doors to Blenheim’s town centre, we’re a 35 minute walk or 5 minute drive; so come and visit us with your friends and family.
Although not essential, during our busy summer months we do recommend booking your tasting, just give us a call on 03 578 7674 to book or email us. For groups of five or more, bookings are essential.

If you’d like to make a difference when it comes to environmental sustainability, you can proudly select our wines knowing they are certified 100% sustainable and our winery is certified carbon-zero. We are doing everything we can to reduce our environmental footprint, and even enhance it, with native plantings at our vineyards to encourage biodiversity. We also recently celebrated becoming B Corporation certified.
To commemorate our sustainable status – we’d like to give you a packet of wildflower seeds when you visit us!
We are proud of our great partnership with Yachting New Zealand and have some great sailing merchandise, as well as other shirts and caps for purchase. We are also the official wine sponsor of Art Shows Across Aotearoa.
And you can charge your EV as we have a charging station especially for our cellar door visitors.
Thanks Nigel
While a lot of the bigger wineries have very rushed and impersonal tastings, this was a real delight. We hope to find LDH wines back home to fondly remember our travels here!
Nigel served us and was incredibly helpful with the tastings and telling us what to do in town.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re doing wines in Marlborough.
