The 2022 vintage is no longer available for purchase, however our Lawson’s Dry Hills Chardonnay 2023 is now ready for your enjoyment.

Experience the pure essence of the chardonnay grape variety with Lawson’s Dry Hills Chardonnay 2023. It had minimal oak influence allowing the fruit characters to really shine. Aromas include citrus, apple and brioche while palate is elegant and smooth and delivers a good concentration of fruit flavours together with a soft texture and lovely balance of fresh acidity. Lawson’s Dry Hills Chardonnay 2022

This wine offers a range of aromas including lemon zest, red apple and brioche. The palate is ripe and juicy with citrus and peach flavours, a soft texture and a lovely, clean acidity. A deliciously pure expression of Chardonnay highlighting the variety’s natural fruit characters together with some richness and balanced by a fresh acidity.

Vineyards and viticulture

Single vineyard wine from our coastal vineyard where the sea breezes moderate temperatures, this block is situated on the banks of the Wairau Diversion.

Winemaking

The grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed and the juice settled briefly before being racked to French oak barrels (22% new). The juice was fermented ‘wild’ and encouraged to undergo full malolactic fermentation. The wine was racked from barrel and blended prior to being bottled here at the winery some ten months later.

Food Pairing

Easy to enjoy on its own, or to accompany seafood, creamy risottos and pasta dishes, fresh salmon, soft white cheeses and chicken.

Lawson’s Dry Hills is the closest winery to Blenheim town centre.

We welcome you to our cellar door seven days a week from 10am – 4.30pm in summer – closed on public holidays. From April 15 until October 26 our cellar door will be open weekdays – closed on weekends and public holidays. Although not essential, during our busy summer months (Oct – March) we do recommend booking your tasting, just give us a call or email to book in.

Whilst we’re delighted you enjoy our wine, we recommend you do so in moderation.
