A couple of summers ago, and after talking with good friend, photographer and musician, Jim Tannock – Vinyl in the Vines was born. Our first event was here in the Lawson’s Dry Hills courtyard, and we were staggered with the response – must have been 400 or 500 people! Jim worked the turntables to much effect with some of his awesome vinyl collection while people enjoyed delicious Boom Chef food and our wines.
And Fran Nolan of Boom Chef fame is also a DJ with a significant vinyl collection, and so is Glyn Walters, a UK musician in a former life, Marlborough Council comms manager in his current life, and all round vinyl aficionado.
So, pair these three and their music with LDH Marketing & Sales Manager, Belinda Jackson (attempting to manage things), and it soon became clear we were onto something. Some 12 or so events later – we’re still going strong and have a diary of upcoming events. From silky smooth and seductive sounds through to those that’ll have you on your feet in seconds, we’re taking LDH wine and playing everything from festivals to 5tapped (our fave local bar, here in Blenheim), vintage parties to music gigs, corporate events to special dinners. And loving every minute.
Great music paired with delicious wine and food – perfect!
